I'm late reviewing Hot Pot and BBQ. I was there early January 2025. The place was nice. I was ready to eat. Therver was nice. We got the close to time to close, but enough time not to rush eating. He did a great job of making sure we had what we needed including a bring us a fresh grill. The food was excellent. Of course you had to cook it yourself. The variety was plentiful. I mixed my sauce and came up with my own unique blend. I tried a variety of chicken and beef. I guess I was so ready to eat I did take pictures of the food after it was cooked. I only got a few pictures of the uncooked meats.
The food was excellent, and the service was fast and efficient. I visited around 7 p.m. while in town for a work project with a coworker. We were seated immediately, and my hotpot was served right away. Unlike other BBQ buffets where you order at the table, this restaurant allows you to select your food directly from the buffet bar, which I found convenient. There's no time limit, and the restaurant was pleasantly uncrowded, which I really appreciated. Overall, it was a great dining experience with delicious food. I'll definitely return if I'm in the area again.
Sooo delicious! If I'm not eating here I'm craving it, particularly the Tom Yum soup for the hot pot. I've tried Tom Yum from other restaurants in Springfield and none of them compare. It helps that you can add your own protein/vege here, but the soup base is also uniquely delicious! The selection of proteins and vegetables is great! I never bother saving room for dessert.
Serve yourself for the most part. If you are new they will help walk you through and don't bother you! My water was refilled constantly whenever it was low and the food is amazing!!!! Only thing I could say is I wish there was a list that shows you average cook times! Fresh food, fast service, amazing tables with them changing out hot plate every time it gets dirty from cooking food!!!
Came here on a girls trip on a whim. Yelp didn't recommend it to me the first time I checked but I'm so glad we found it. Everything was delicious! My picky niece loved it and so did the rest of us. Service was excellent. We'll be coming back the next time we are in Springfield.
Great food! The Tom Yum soup is the best! There are plenty of meat and veggie add ins. There are also numerous sauces to choose from.
TL;DR: Massively, mega-, highly recommended! Come here and eat like royalty! For those who aren't familiar with this type of restaurant, here's how it works. For the hot pot, you order 1 of 7 different types of broth which they bring to the table and set on a heating element. Then you head to a HUGE buffet of raw ingredients where you select all of the meat, veggies, sauces, and seasonings as you like and drop them into the bubbling broth. I went crazy with the tom yum broth, 3 different kind of mushrooms, baby bok choy, hot chili paste, noodles, a combo of meats, and a couple of vegetable dumplings. That alone would have been a very satisfying meal, but I wasn't done by a long shot. For the BBQ, you take from a different selection of meats, including bulgogi-marinated meats of all kinds. Then you bring it back to the table and cook it on the metal griddle. I tried just about everything; don't sleep on the bulgogi pork belly. The selection on the buffet is truly impressive. For the meat eaters, there's beef, chicken (thighs and breasts), pork (loin and belly), and lamb. The seafood selection includes clams, oysters, and a few different shellfish. As for the vegetables they have, it would be shorter to list what they don't have. They even have a few fresh ingredients that are exotic to the Midwest, like snap pea greens and jujubes. If you're a vegetarian or vegan, you won't do better than this for flavor or selection. One of the great features here is, because the buffet is raw, the quality of the ingredients is obvious. I had a chance to meet the owner and it was obvious that he is extremely proud of his place. This isn't simply a strip-mall Chinese joint (which I like just fine), but he's doing something special here. He says the setup here is just like you would find at a similar place in China. His restaurant is exactly the way he wants it, and he operates it with integrity and an eye to quality. Those who complain about the place will talk about a high price, but they're missing the point. As I said before, this isn't typical Chinese take-out. This is a place best experienced with a large party that has a giant appetite and wants to celebrate. Next time, I'm bringing at least 2 more people with me because the fun here is sharing all the different flavors and passing things across the table. This is a family-run restaurant that our area will love, and it deserves our business.
We had a dinner here after work one evening and it was such a fun experience. My initial impression of Springfield was that it was a friendly, pleasant and low-key town with not much of interest from a culinary standpoint - American fare with an emphasis on horseshoes. I was wrong. Hot Pot & Korean Buffet felt very authentic and the setup was really fun. It was cool to choose my ingredients and cook my dinner in a broth while enjoying conversation. All the meat is frozen and thinly cut so it cooks quickly. The veggies and mushrooms were fresh and tasty. They even had a selection of ice cream for dessert! I'll be back here next summer for sure.
Absolutely amazing! This new restaurant located on Springfield's south west side needs to be added to the top of your list of where to go on your next night out on the town. Upon arrival staff the greets you like family and make sure that all of your needs are taken care of. The food selection was unlike anything else in the area. When I say that there is something for everyone that is not a lie. Between the options for hot pot and the grill you will definitely not go home without a full stomach. Going in a group i had the joy of tasting 5/7 of their amazing soup broths Tom Yum being my personal favorite but they were all equally good in their own unique ways. This establishment is just what springfield needed and I can not recommend them enough!
This is an All-You-Can-Eat hotpot and kbbq place. It was really bold for the owners to open something like this in Springfield, where the majority of people might not know how kbbq or hotpot works. I will write a guide on what to expect from this restaurant after having visited. When you enter the place you will be greeted by staff, let them know how many people there are for a table. They will then seat you down and ask if you've come for either hotpot or kbbq. It is $30 per person for either hotpot or kbbq, but if you'd like to do both (like what I did), you'll have to pay a few dollars extra to have both the kbbq and hotpot options. Depending on what you pick (hotpot or kbbq), the staff will turn on the heat for your individual cooking station. They will heat up the pot for you if you choose hotpot option, and the grill if you choose the kbbq option. While it is heating up, you can head to the buffet area to get your selection of meat and veggies. There is also a build-your-own-sauce bar. Don't skip this! Your hotpot meat won't be flavorful if you don't have sauce. Some of the meats are hotpot-only, and some are reserved for kbbq-only, there will be signs telling you what you can and can't get. When you have your plate of food, you can head back to your table and start cooking. Staff is also very nice and I can tell they care about the business and making it work. They are very attentive and come to check up on you to see everything is working properly and if you might have any questions.
